What a fun day Beth and I had today...we have not spent a day just wandering from shop to shop since way back in the early summer. It just seems one or the other of us is occupied otherwise. Beth has spent the greater part of the summer and early fall clearing out her double car basement area, cleaning & organizing tools, hardware and such, repainting old shelving & installing extra shelves and replacing the items in an orderly fashion. She painted the basement a cool grey color which added so much reflective value to the area that now you can really see yourself being able to work on a project down there. She also put down a nice finish on the cement floor...the one where you paint, sprinkle colored chips over the paint and then topcoat with an epoxy finishing. It looks so professional! I would love to do that down in my garden shed as well.
Beth’s brother, Charles, told her if she would meet him during his lunch break, he would add her to his BJ’s Club membership. So our first order of duty was driving over to Newnan, Georgia to take care of that. It was a nice drive to Newnan, still some fall color to enjoy plus seeing homes decorated for the Christmas season. Newnan is an old town and some of the beautifully restored Victorian and Georgian style homes that line the downtown area are always a treat to see. Decorative wrought iron fences, manicured lawns with ancient boxwoods and striking paint color palettes all delight my eye. Oh how I love old houses...money pits that they are...just like my Cottage.
After adding Beth’s membership information we dropped Charles back off at the Federal Courthouse where he works, we took an unknown road back towards Fayetteville. One of the wonderful staff members at our old beloved ‘Scrap Happy’ scrapbook shop in Griffin had opened her own shop in the historic downtown area of Fayetteville, “Scrapbooks, and Invitations & More”. We had not shopped there for many months and wanted to see what new products were there to tempt us. I was a pretty good girl and only spent about $17.00, mostly on new Sassafras Lass products. Lucky for me they didn’t carry the October Afternoon paper line...my latest weakness.
We then hit every other scrapbook offering in Fayetteville; Michael’s Crafts, Hobby Lobby, and finished up with Jo-Ann’s. Nothing new at these shops to force me to part with my funds thankfully; especially since I recently ordered several products online to work on Ali Edward’s latest project, the “Family Gratitude Photo Spinner”.

The afternoon was waning and so at 4:00 pm we headed home towards Griffin, Beth needed to get home and sleep several hours as she goes back to work at the Hospital for the next three nights. We both had eaten nothing since breakfast and were famished...we stopped in at El Charro and had and early dinner. Though I had not really worked hard that day, by the time I got home I was bushed. I spent the rest of the evening watching TV with Mom and Gretchen. It was a very enjoyable outing...I just don’t get to see enough of my friend, Beth.

Holy Cow...you got the photo spinner!!! You are a bad influence on me...financially because after seeing what you do with yours I am sure I will want to copy. It really is a neat idea.
